i. The Signal

When getting the day off leaves your skin tight.

By evening there’s a full day to take off — makeup, SPF, sunscreen, pollution, sebum. Most first cleansers do it with surfactants and harsh wipes that strip as they clean, and reactive skin pays for it: tight, stinging, flushed before you’ve even finished. The day needs to come off. It shouldn’t cost you your barrier.

Enzyme Cleansing Oil was made to dissolve all of it — gently, with oil instead of detergent.

ii. The Ritual

The day melts away — nothing stripped.

A silky first-cleanse oil that dissolves makeup, SPF, and the day’s buildup the way only oil can — oil lifts oil. Then a splash of warm water wakes the fruit enzymes, fermented papaya and pineapple, for a smoother, brighter-looking finish. No surfactants, no detergents, nothing to leave skin tight. Just a clean slate.

The texture is a lightweight, silky oil — the squalane and light coconut-derived base keep it from ever feeling heavy or greasy. It melts in, turns soft and milky with water, and wipes clean. The first step of your evening, before your second cleanse.

Made for skin that

feels tight or stripped after most cleansers
wears makeup, SPF, or sunscreen to take off
wants a gentle first cleanse without surfactants
likes a smoother, brighter-looking finish from fruit enzymes

iii. The Standard

Why this cleanse is different.

Most cleansing oils rely on surfactants and emulsifiers to rinse away. This one is oil only — held to the standard the most reactive skin demands.

Oil only · no surfactantsNo detergents, no emulsifiers, no PEGs — nothing that strips the barrier.
Fermented fruit enzymesGentle fermented papaya and pineapple, not raw enzymes — they wake with water.
Fragrance-free & EO-freeNo synthetic fragrance and no essential oils — nothing to react to.
Light, stable baseA skin-familiar base of squalane, jojoba, and coconut-derived oil — light, never greasy.

A first cleanse, every evening — followed by your second cleanse.

Sensory Notes

A silky, lightweight oil that melts makeup and the day without ever feeling heavy. It glides on dry skin, dissolves everything it touches, then turns soft and milky the moment warm water meets it. It wipes away clean, with no greasy film and no tight, stripped feeling left behind.

On dry skinSilky and light — glides on and dissolves makeup, SPF, and buildup.
With waterTurns soft and milky as the fruit enzymes wake.
RemovalWipes or rinses clean — no greasy film left behind.
AfterSoft and comfortable — never tight or stripped.

Scent: none added. Only the soft, neutral note of the oils. No synthetic fragrance, no essential oils.

How to Use

Warm

Dispense a few pumps into dry palms and warm for a moment.

Massage onto dry skin

Work over dry face for 30–60 seconds. The oils dissolve makeup, SPF, sunscreen, and the day’s buildup.

Add water to activate

Wet your fingertips with warm water and keep massaging. The water wakes the fruit enzymes and the oil turns soft and milky. Let it sit about a minute for a smoother, brighter-looking finish.

Rinse or wipe

Rinse with warm water, or press a warm, damp cloth over the face to lift everything away.

Finish

Follow with your double cleanse. For external use only.

New to fruit enzymes or have reactive skin? Patch test on your inner arm first, and start a few times a week.

Autoimmune & Sensitivity Transparency

A gentle first cleanse — and open about every ingredient.

I formulate for bodies that react to almost everything, including my own — so I build for less, and I name all of it. Enzyme Cleansing Oil takes off makeup, SPF, and the day through oil alone — no surfactants, no detergents, no PEGs — with gentle fermented fruit enzymes that wake with water. It’s truly fragrance-free and essential oil-free. One thing to flag clearly up front: it contains papaya and pineapple, which matters for a few specific allergies. Here’s the full picture.

Please read if you have a latex or fruit allergy

This cleanse contains papaya and pineapple. Papaya is part of latex-fruit syndrome — if you have a latex allergy, you may cross-react to papaya (and to banana, avocado, or kiwi). And if you have a papaya or pineapple food allergy, this is your note. If either applies to you, we’d skip this one, or patch test with real care first.

Why it’s made for reactive skin

Oil only, no surfactantsNo detergents, emulsifiers, or PEGs — nothing that strips the barrier as it cleans.
Fermented, not raw enzymesGentle fermented papaya and pineapple, softer than raw fruit enzymes.
Truly fragrance-freeNo synthetic fragrance, no essential oils, and no benzyl alcohol — nothing scented at all.
Light, stable baseA skin-familiar base of squalane, jojoba, and coconut-derived oil.

Truly fragrance-free

This one is truly fragrance-free. There’s no synthetic fragrance and no essential oils, and as a waterless oil it carries none of the benzyl alcohol found in the water-based butters. Nothing scented at all. The soft, neutral note is simply the oils themselves.

Every ingredient, named

Here is everything in the bottle — a light cleansing oil with fermented fruit. The clearest flags are the papaya (latex-fruit syndrome) and pineapple above. The notes below add a sunflower / ragweed-family and mint-family (rosemary) note, so you can decide with the full facts in hand.

Open the full ingredient list
Fermented Fruit EnzymesLactobacillus/Papaya Ferment, Ananas Sativus (Pineapple)
The fruit enzymes — fermented papaya (in papaya seed oil) and pineapple fruit (in sunflower oil). Gentler than raw enzymes, but still papaya and pineapple: see the latex-fruit and food-allergy note above. This is the part to patch test.

Cleansing BaseCaprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, Jojoba
The light base — a coconut-derived triglyceride (worth knowing if you’re coconut-sensitive, though it’s highly purified), olive-derived squalane, and jojoba. All three are skin-familiar, stable, and rarely reactive.

Nourishing OilsRosehip, Pomegranate
The conditioning seed oils. Rosehip is in the rose (Rosaceae) family and pomegranate is food-derived — named for those specific allergies, though reactions to the oils are uncommon.

Sunflower, Rosemary & Vitamin EHelianthus Annuus, Rosmarinus Officinalis, Tocopherols
Sunflower appears as the carrier for the pineapple, the Vitamin E, and the rosemary — it’s in the daisy / ragweed (Asteraceae) family, the note for anyone with a ragweed or sunflower-seed allergy. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is a mint-family (Lamiaceae) botanical — a light note for that family. Both the antioxidants keep the oils fresh.

That’s everything — nothing hidden, nothing implied. Because this one has fruit enzymes, patch test on your inner arm first — especially if you have a latex, papaya, or pineapple allergy, or react easily. You know your body best.

  2. Dulce

I love this product. Leaves face feeling hydrated and radiant! 1 drop is enough for light make up/no make up days, I do 2 drops when I do full face make up. Does not leave skin oily!

  3. Taylor

    I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!
Not only are the ingredients incredible, but I have never found a cleansing oil that works quite as great as this one. It removes old dry skin / buildup/ makeup without stripping away any moisture! My face feels and looks baby smooth! I use this cleansing oil every day and I couldn’t be happier with it! Do your skin a favor and add this to your regimen!
