Product FAQ

Where are your ingredients sourced?
We source almost all of our ingredients from local or USA suppliers.
Meet some of our suppliers.

  • Bulk Naturals – 100% pure and undiluted. Ingredients are sourced from their permaculture farm in the Ozarks. They live and pursue a sustainable lifestyle, supporting a local homesteading community.
  • Wholesale Botanics – Responsibly sourced, cruelty free and made in the USA.
  • Nature In Bottle – “Through our rigorous process of selecting suppliers and unwavering commitment to stringent quality testing, we guarantee every product we sell is 100% pure and authentic. We have embraced a rigorous quality control standard to help ensure our products meet strict specifications. We never compromise our products by adding synthetics, contaminants, or cheap fillers, or by using unethical production practices. Nature In Bottle is committed to supplying the highest quality essential oils and natural ingredients while making a positive difference in the lives of farmers, harvesters, distillers and their communities. With a dedication to a transparent and ethical supply chain, we work to build stable livelihoods while supporting the overall health and wellbeing of the environment as well as the society.”

Which ingredients are organic?

Several of our ingredients are organic, such as our essential oils, butters, and carrier oils. You will find that our product packaging and website will discern which ingredients are organic with the label (*organic).

Which ingredients are raw and unrefined?

We believe in the powers of raw and unrefined ingredients as these provide the most powerful healing benefits to your skin. Most of our butters and 99% of our carrier oils are raw and unrefined, giving your skin the benefit of high amounts of vitamin A, E and fatty acid.

Do you source sustainable ingredients?

We love our Mother Earth and want to minimize our impact however we can in our day-to-day lives. Supporting sustainably sourced businesses means that we want these companies to thrive and become the leading source in their industry. By using sustainably sourced ingredients, we not only support our suppliers but we also supply our customers with the best ingredients we can. This loop insures our planet’s future, and that’s a beautiful thing to be part of.

Do you use preservatives?

We use ecocert broad spectrum preservatives in products that contain water or that will have contact with water. Our dry/powdered products do not contain any preservatives. Our preservative is accepted by Ecocert for use in natural and organic certified cosmetics and is Soil Association approved. It is certified: Vegan and Beauty Without Cruelty.

How are your products made?

We are currently a small batch, women owned, handmade and homemade product line. All of our products are made in a small in-home shop in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

Why are your bath bombs slightly different sizes?

Our bath bombs are approximately 6.5 oz and 3.25 oz each, but vary in size slightly. Since we are handmade and a small batch facility, each bath bomb is uniquely crafted, which means you will not find one product exactly like another.

Are your products safe for all ages?

No, we do not recommend most of our products for anyone under the age of 6 due to our use of essential oils. We have child safe products, so please visit our Babe line here: https://indiefog.com/product-category/babe/

Are your products vegan?

Yes, all of our products and ingredients are vegan.

Do your products have a shelf life?

Yes, since we use mostly raw and unrefined ingredients, we highly recommend our products be used within 12 months of purchasing them. We try to keep minimal stock and/or make on demand, so that you are receiving the freshest product. Our powdered products have a much longer shelf life, up to 24 months.

Water-free Formulations

We want to conserve one of our most precious resources, water, which is why the majority of our products are made without water. Water-free formulations are more sustainable for the planet and have a longer shelf life, so you can enjoy to the very last drop.

Are your products cruelty free?

Yes, we never test our products on animals, only on willing friends and family.

Where are your products made?

Lake Oswego, Oregon – USA

Are there any allergens in your facility?

Our products are made and packaged in a facility which also has tree nuts, peanuts and soy. We have a milk, egg, shellfish and wheat free facility. If you have allergies, please refer to our individual product pages for listed allergens under the ingredients section.

Sensitivities

We carefully craft our products using all natural oils, butters, herbs, clays and botanicals; which include natural nuts, seeds and fruit. If you have any allergies, please carefully read the product label prior to use or refer to our website under the ingredients section.

If you are uncertain about a sensitivity, we recommend doing a patch test first to ensure that there is no reaction. If irritation occurs, please discontinue using the product.

Please consult your physician before using any products with essential oils if you are pregnant, nursing, using on a child under the age of 12, or have a medical condition. Be You Botanicals is not responsible for allergic reactions, issues derived from the use of products not described in application directions, or neglect to contact a physician prior to usage.

Packaging FAQ

Where are your packaging supplies sourced?

We source our packaging from UCanPack, EcoEnclose, Elevate Packaging, Stickerit, U-Line and Container And Packaging. All six companies are environmentally friendly and support our desires of a low impact product and business.

Is your packaging compostable?

Yes, most of our packaging is compostable. Our shipping supplies, boxes, filler, shipping labels, box stickers, pouches, sample packs, refills, labels, sticker seals, compostable bath bomb wrappers and belly bands are all home compostable.

Our bath bomb belly bands and thank you notes are made of seed paper, so we recommend planting them in your garden to enjoy the beautiful blooms.

Our stand up clear refill pouches are all home compostable. Because of this, we don’t recommend they be used for extended storage. Upon receiving your refill pouches, we recommend pouring the contents into an air-tight jar and composting the bag.

Our bath bombs come in two options – compostable wrap or plastic wrap. We highly recommend you store your compostable wrapped bath bombs in an air-tight container or use soon after receiving. Our plastic wrap is made from Polyolefin (POF), which are nontoxic. They keep our bath bombs dry and prevent moisture in, extending the shelf life.

How do I plant my ‘belly band’ and ‘thank you’ seed paper?

We recommend planting your seed paper in 1/8″ of soil, watering it daily and making sure it gets full sun in order to bloom!

We source our seed paper from a small shop in New York. It’s handmade and made with Daisy seeds.
