A lightweight, quick-absorbing facial oil built on an antioxidant-rich blend of berries and botanicals. Rosehip, elderberry, maqui, sea buckthorn, and bakuchiol. It brightens the look of dull skin calmly, with no stimulation and no sting.

The texture is a silky oil that sinks in fast and leaves no film behind, so skin looks dewy and even. A few drops, morning or night, is the whole ritual.

Brighten Elixir is an antioxidant-rich blend of cold-pressed and CO₂-extracted botanical oils. Nineteen of them, with no water and no preservative. It is formulated to the tolerance of the most reactive skin.

How to Use

Warm a few drops

Press a few drops between your palms to warm the oil before applying.

Press into the skin

Press gently over the face and neck, and let the oil sink in on its own.

Morning or night

Use whenever you want a soft glow. Light enough for day, nourishing enough for night.

Layer last

Use after your serum, as the final step, or just under a butter or cream to seal it in.

Where it sits in your routine

This is step four. Cleanse, then an essence, then a serum, then this pressed in. It can be the last step on its own, or it can go under the Ceramide Barrier Cream or the Defy Face Butter when your skin wants more over the top.

Once or twice a week the Cacao Renewal Polish or the Radiance Mask goes in after cleansing. That step is optional, and the routine works without it.

Care & Keeping

How long a bottle lasts

Most customers get 6 to 12 months from one bottle. A few drops covers a face, and the dropper makes it easy to take less than you think you need.

Whether it is preserved, and why not

No, and it does not need one. There is no water in here. A preservative exists to stop things growing in water, and with no water there is nothing to grow in. That is one more thing left out on purpose, and it is part of why the list is as short as it is.

What is in here instead is vitamin E and rosemary extract. Those are antioxidants. They slow the oils turning over time, which is a different job from preserving, and worth knowing the difference if you read labels closely.

Storing it

Cool, out of direct sunlight, cap closed. Oils mind light and heat more than they mind anything else, so a sunny windowsill and the shelf above a hot shower are the two places to avoid. A drawer or a cupboard is ideal.

If it arrives warm, and when to stop

Warmth in transit is nothing to worry about here. There is no water and no emulsion in this bottle, so there is nothing to melt and nothing to split. Leave it somewhere cool and it will be exactly as it should be.

What to watch for over a long time is the smell. Plant oils turn eventually, and when they do the scent goes sharp or flat rather than soft. If yours smells different from the bottle you opened, stop using it on your face and tell us, and we will replace it.

The antioxidant heart of the oil. Rosehip is in the rose (Rosaceae) family. The berries, elderberry and maqui and sea buckthorn and prickly pear, are food-derived, and they are named here for those specific allergies. Reactions to the pressed oils are uncommon.

Tamanu & SunflowerCalophyllum Inophyllum, Helianthus Annuus

Two oils worth naming on their own. Tamanu is pressed from a tree-nut kernel, so this is the note for anyone with a tree-nut allergy. Sunflower sits in the daisy and ragweed (Asteraceae) family, for anyone with a ragweed or sunflower-seed allergy.

Bakuchiol, Carrot, Gotu Kola & Green CaviarBakuchiol, Daucus Carota, Centella, Caulerpa

Gentle botanicals and marine algae. Bakuchiol is a purified plant compound. Carrot and gotu kola both sit in the carrot and celery (Apiaceae) family, so that is the note for that allergy. Green caviar is an algae, a light note for the rare seaweed-sensitive.

Rosemary Leaf ExtractRosmarinus Officinalis

A natural antioxidant extract that helps the oils stay fresh. This is the leaf extract, which is what keeps the essential-oil-free standard intact here. Rosemary sits in the mint (Lamiaceae) family, so this is the note for anyone with a mint-family sensitivity.

Squalane & Vitamin ESqualane (olive), Tocopherol

Plant squalane is olive-derived and very skin-familiar. One light sourcing note: the Vitamin E (tocopherol) is sunflower-derived, so it sits in the same sunflower and ragweed (Asteraceae) family as the sunflower oil above. It is highly purified, and it is named here for anyone with that allergy.

That is everything, with nothing hidden. One practical note: the berry oils, sea buckthorn especially, give this a natural golden-green color, so go easy on very fair skin and light fabrics until it absorbs. And if an ingredient gives you pause, the tamanu if you have a tree-nut allergy, or the sunflower if you are ragweed-sensitive, patch test a small area first. You know your body best.
