By evening there is a full day to take off. Makeup, SPF, pollution, sebum. If your skin is reactive, you already know what the taking-off usually costs you, which is a face that feels tight and stings before you have even finished.
This one dissolves all of it, and leaves your face comfortable afterwards. Fermented papaya and pineapple wake up when they meet warm water. It is the first step of your evening, before your second cleanse.

What is in it
Fermented papaya and pineapple, the enzymes that wake with warm water. A light coconut-derived triglyceride, olive squalane and jojoba for the base. Rosehip and pomegranate seed oils to keep the cleanse conditioning. Vitamin E and rosemary to keep the oils fresh.

This cleanse contains papaya and pineapple.
Papaya sits inside latex-fruit syndrome, so a latex allergy can cross-react to papaya, and to banana, avocado, or kiwi. If you have a papaya or pineapple food allergy, this is your note. If either applies to you, we would skip this one, or patch test with real care first.
How it works
Oil lifts oil. There are no surfactants in this bottle, so nothing here has to strip your skin to get the day off it.
The fermented papaya and pineapple sit quietly in the oil until warm water wakes them, for a smoother, brighter-looking finish. There are no exfoliating acids in the formula, and nothing here needs a low pH to do its work.
Formulated to support your skin’s moisture barrier. Barrier-friendly by design, with nothing added that a reactive system has to work around.

Truly fragrance-free. As a waterless oil it carries none of the benzyl alcohol found in our water-based butters, which is the reason those are called unscented rather than fragrance-free.

How to use it

Warm it first
Dispense a few pumps into dry palms and warm the oil for a moment before it meets your skin.

Massage onto dry skin, slowly
Work over a dry face for 30 to 60 seconds. This is the part worth not rushing. Small circles, light pressure, a few unhurried breaths.

Add water to wake the enzymes
Wet your fingertips with warm water and keep massaging. The oil turns soft and milky, which is how you know the enzymes are awake. Let it sit about a minute.

Rinse or wipe
Rinse with warm water, or press a warm, damp cloth over the face to lift everything away. Let the warmth sit for a breath before you move.

Follow with your second cleanse
Go straight on while your skin is still damp.

What tolerance looks like changes over time, and it is different for each of us, so what follows is composition rather than a promise. Fermented Papaya & PineappleThe hero · and the one to patch test
Fermented papaya, carried in papaya seed oil, with pineapple fruit carried in sunflower oil. Fermented rather than raw, and still papaya and pineapple. Papaya sits inside latex-fruit syndrome, so a latex allergy can cross-react here, and so can a papaya or pineapple food allergy.
Caprylic/Capric TriglycerideCoconut-derived · the largest ingredient
The light base that does most of the dissolving. It is a highly purified fraction rather than coconut oil, and it is named as coconut-derived here so you can make your own call on it.
SqualaneOlive-derived
Ours is olive-derived, which puts it in the Oleaceae family. Squalane can come from several sources, so it is worth knowing which one you are getting, and this is it.
Jojoba Seed OilDesert shrub · organic and regeneratively grown
Closer to skin’s own sebum than most plant oils, which is part of why it wipes clean rather than sitting on the surface.
Rosehip & Pomegranate Seed OilsRosaceae, and food-derived
Rosehip is in the rose family and pomegranate is food-derived, both named here for those specific allergies.
Sunflower Seed Oil & TocopherolBoth sunflower-derived
Sunflower arrives as the carrier for the pineapple, and it is regeneratively grown. Our vitamin E is sunflower-derived too, and never soy. Sunflower is in the daisy and ragweed (Asteraceae) family, which is the note for anyone watching that family.
Rosemary Leaf ExtractLamiaceae, the mint family
An antioxidant rather than a scent ingredient. A light mint-family note for anyone who watches that family.
That is everything in the bottle. Nothing hidden, nothing implied. Because this one has fruit enzymes, patch test on your inner arm first, especially if you have a latex, papaya, or pineapple allergy. You know your body best.
Care and keepingHow long a bottle lasts, why it is not preserved, and keeping water out
How long a bottle lasts
How fast you get through it depends on how much makeup you take off, so there is no single number. Here is what is actually known.
Unopened and kept cool, the oil holds for about 12 months from making. Once opened, the closure sets the clock: a dropper is the shortest, a lock-pump the longest. Two clocks run at once and the first one to finish is the one that counts.
Whether it is preserved, and why not
No, and it does not need one. There is no water in the bottle, and that is one more thing left out on purpose.
What is in here instead is vitamin E and rosemary extract. Those are antioxidants. They slow the oils turning over time, which is a different job from preserving, and worth knowing the difference if you read labels closely.
Storing it, and keeping water out
Cool, dry, out of direct light. Around room temperature is right.
This one matters more here than on any other oil we make, because a cleansing oil lives by the sink. Wet hands on the dropper or the pump put water into a bottle that has none. Dispense first, then wet your hands.
If it arrives warm, and when to stop
Warmth in transit is nothing to worry about here. There is nothing in the bottle to melt and nothing to split. Leave it somewhere cool and it will be exactly as it should be.
What to watch for over a long time is the smell. Plant oils turn eventually, and when they do the scent goes sharp or flat rather than soft. If yours smells different from the bottle you opened, stop using it on your face and tell us, and we will replace it.
