i. The Signal
When a morning cream feels like one more thing on your skin.
Reactive skin gets offered richness when what it wants is quiet. A heavy cream sits on the surface, catches under makeup, and by mid-morning your face feels covered rather than comfortable.
Ceramide Barrier Cream is newly reformulated to be lighter. Every ingredient is the same one that was there before. The proportions changed, so it sinks in faster and sits closer to the skin. A light daytime moisturizer, and still comfortable enough for night.
ii. The Ritual
A light layer, morning and night.
A plant-ceramide cream built around the same lipids skin makes for itself, ceramides with cholesterol and phytosphingosine. It conditions the skin and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated, with nothing left sitting on top.
The new texture is a light cream that absorbs quickly into a soft, comfortable finish. Never greasy, never tight. Light enough to be your daytime moisturizer, under makeup and under the rest of your day. Comfortable enough to be your night one. If your skin wants more after dark, the Defy Face Butter presses in over the top.

iii. The Standard
How this cream is built.
The lipids are what this cream is for, so it leads with a full complex. Ceramides NP, AP, and EOP, with cholesterol and phytosphingosine, the same family of lipids skin makes itself. Everything else in the jar is there to carry them and to keep the finish soft.
The reformulation kept all of it. Nothing was added and nothing was taken out. The proportions were reworked so the cream absorbs faster and wears lighter through the day.
The hero · The ceramide complex
A closer look at the lipidsCeramide NP · AP · EOP, with cholesterol and phytosphingosine
This cream carries three ceramides, NP, AP, and EOP, alongside cholesterol and phytosphingosine. That grouping matters because it is the same family of lipids skin makes for itself, in roughly the proportions it uses them. They condition the skin and leave the finish soft. They are also among the best-tolerated ingredients in skincare, which is why this cream can be an everyday layer.
A little goes a long way, and the lighter texture spreads further than it used to. Most customers enjoy one jar for 6 months.
Sensory Notes
A light cream that melts the moment it meets warm skin. The first feel is soft and smooth, with no weight and no film left behind. It absorbs quickly to a comfortable, hydrated finish. There is no tingle and no sting, and nothing that asks your system to brace.
How to Use
After your serum or oil
Use as the moisturizing step, after your essence, serum, or facial oil.
Start with less than you used to
Take a small amount on clean fingertips and warm it briefly between them. The new texture spreads further than the old one, so the amount that used to be right will be more than you need. Begin small and add if you want it.
Press it in, slowly
Press and smooth gently over the face and neck until it sinks in. No rubbing, no pulling. Let your shoulders drop while you do it.
Morning and night
Use twice daily, AM and PM. Light enough to be your daytime moisturizer, and comfortable enough to be your night one. Nothing here needs to be rushed.
Where it sits in your routine
This is the moisturizing step, and it goes on last in the morning. Cleanse with the Hydrate Cleansing Bar, then your essence and serum, then this. That is the Steady Ritual, and the four pieces are built to be used in that order.
Once or twice a week the Cacao Renewal Polish or the Radiance Mask goes in after cleansing. At night, if you want something heavier over the top, the Defy Face Butter presses in last.
Care & Keeping
How long a jar lasts
A little goes a long way, and most customers enjoy one jar for about six months using it morning and night. It is a press-in cream rather than a slather-on one, so the amount you need is smaller than the habit suggests. The lighter texture spreads further still.
Whether it is preserved, and why
Yes, and this one has to be. It is a water-based cream, built on aloe vera leaf water, and water is what makes a preservative necessary. Without one, a cream like this would not be safe to keep on a bathroom shelf.
The system includes benzyl alcohol. It is here as a preservative rather than a scent ingredient, and it is also a declarable fragrance allergen on EU labels. That single fact is the whole reason this cream is called unscented and never fragrance-free. If you want a facial step with no benzyl alcohol at all, the Hydrate Cleansing Bar and our waterless oils carry none.
Storing it, and keeping water out
Cool, out of direct sun, lid on between uses. Because it is water-based, scoop with dry fingers or a small spatula rather than wet hands, and keep the jar off the wet edge of the sink. A preserved cream is protected, and it still does better when you are not adding tap water to it twice a day.
If it arrives warm, and when to stop
Softening in a hot mailbox is normal. Let the closed jar sit somewhere cool and it will come back to its usual texture.
If it arrives separated, with a watery or oily layer sitting apart from the cream, that is different. Do not use it. Send us a photograph and we will replace it. This is an emulsion of water and lipids, and a split jar is not something to stir back together or work around. We would always rather send another one.
Ingredients
A full lipid complex with aloe, shea, and Tremella. Every ingredient earns its place, and the reformulation kept all of them.

Sensitivity Transparency
A light daily layer, and open about every ingredient.
I formulate for bodies that react to almost everything, including my own. So I build for less, and I name all of it.
Ceramide Barrier Cream is newly reformulated to be lighter. Every ingredient is the same one that was in the last version. I changed the proportions so it absorbs faster and wears lighter through the day. It conditions the skin with the same family of lipids skin makes itself, ceramides with cholesterol and phytosphingosine. No actives, and nothing that stings. It is unscented and essential oil-free. If you are navigating an autoimmune condition, MCAS, eczema, psoriasis, or skin that is easily set off, this is a light, steady layer with nothing sharp in it. Here is the full picture.
Why it’s made for reactive skin
Unscented, with one named preservative
This cream is unscented and essential oil-free. There is no synthetic fragrance, no essential oils, and no added scent of any kind. It is water-based, so it needs a preservative to stay stable, and the certified system I use includes benzyl alcohol. Benzyl alcohol is here as a preservative rather than a scent ingredient, and it is also a declarable fragrance allergen on EU labels. That is why this one is labelled unscented rather than fragrance-free. If you need a truly fragrance-free option, our waterless oils carry no benzyl alcohol at all.
Every ingredient, named
Here is everything in the jar, a light water-based cream built on skin-identical lipids. Because it contains water, it is gently preserved, and it includes a few fermented and mushroom-derived ingredients. The notes below cover those, plus the shea (tree-nut-derived), the benzyl alcohol, and one honest question about the cholesterol, so you can decide with the full facts.
Open the full ingredient list
That is everything in the jar. Nothing hidden, nothing implied. If a particular thing gives you pause, the shea if you react to tree nuts, the fermented and mushroom ingredients if you are yeast- or mould-sensitive, the benzyl alcohol if you react to fragrance ingredients, or the cholesterol if you have a lanolin allergy, patch test a small area first. You know your body best.
If you are navigating a condition, use this alongside your doctors, never instead. Ceramide Barrier Cream is a cosmetic. It is made to soften and comfort skin, and it does not treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
