Water-based products usually need a preservative, and many reach for benzyl alcohol — which doubles as a declarable fragrance allergen. This cream doesn’t. It’s preserved with gluconolactone and sodium benzoate instead, so there’s no synthetic fragrance, no essential oils, and no benzyl alcohol — fragrance-free without a caveat. The soft note is simply the shea and base ingredients.

The skin-identical lipids at the heart of the cream — the same family skin makes itself, and very well tolerated. One honest note on the cholesterol: in skincare it’s usually plant-derived, but it can also come from lanolin (sheep’s wool). If you have a wool or lanolin allergy — more common in eczema-prone skin — it’s worth confirming the source with us first.

Hydrating ingredients from fermentation and a botanical mushroom. They’re well tolerated, but named clearly for anyone sensitive to yeast, ferments, or mould — a real consideration for some reactive skin.
