Plump Elixir

When your skin looks a little deflated.

Dehydrated, tired skin can start to look flat and thin, like it has lost some of its cushion. If you have answered that with a heavier cream, you may have found it brought congestion without any more suppleness.

Plump Elixir was made for that. Sixteen ingredients, mostly cold-pressed and CO₂-extracted, over a base of light olive squalane. Pomegranate and rosehip together are more than half the bottle, and the squalane is what keeps all of it feeling weightless.

The hero · white lupine, and one thing to read first

The plumping work here is done by a white lupine seed extract at 2%.

One thing to know before you order. Lupine is a legume, and it cross-reacts with peanut. This is a leave-on product, so if you have a peanut or legume allergy, that matters more than it would in something you rinse off. It is named on the label, named here, and named again in Please Note and in the allergens fold. Nothing about it is hidden inside a blend.

Left out on purpose

No water, and no preservative, because there is nothing here for anything to grow in. No synthetic fragrance and no essential oils. No heavy occlusives, which is why a rich oil still finishes light.

The basePomegranate and rosehip seed oils are over half the bottle, with prickly pear and hibiscus under them. Olive squalane at a fifth of the formula is what carries that richness without weight. Formulated to support your skin’s moisture barrier.

Truly fragrance-free, with no caveat. As a waterless oil it carries none of the benzyl alcohol found in our water-based butters. The soft, nutty note is the cold-pressed seed oils themselves.

What you notice

In the bottleRich amber, running toward red-orange. That is the pomegranate, rosehip, hibiscus, and prickly pear, and it is what a bottle made mostly of those four looks like.
Initial feelSilky and rich. Cushiony on the fingertips.
AbsorptionThe light squalane helps it sink in cleanly, leaving no film behind.
On the skinThe colour fades as it absorbs. It can transfer for a moment on very fair skin or light fabric, so give it that moment before you dress or lie down.
LayeringA butter or cream goes straight over the top.
FinishSoft and cushioned. Skin looks full and dewy, and this is a warm final layer for the evening.

How to use it

Warm a few drops between your palms

Press a few drops between your palms and let the oil warm before it meets your face.

Place your hands first

Rest your palms over your face for a breath or two before you move. It is a small thing, and it is the part that lets your shoulders drop.

Press it in, slowly

Press gently over the face and neck, moving upward. No rubbing and no pulling.

Best at night

A natural fit for the evening, to wake to a cushioned, supple-looking complexion. It works in the morning too, under a butter or cream.

White Lupine Seed ExtractLupinus Albus · hero · read this one first

The plumping botanical, at 2%, and the one ingredient here worth flagging clearly. Lupine is a legume (Fabaceae) that cross-reacts with peanut. This is a leave-on product rather than something you rinse off, so if you have a peanut or legume allergy, check with your provider before using it, and patch test first.

Pomegranate & RosehipPunica Granatum, Rosa Rubiginosa, Rosa Canina

More than half the bottle between them, in both pressed oil and CO₂ extract forms. Rosehip sits in the rose (Rosaceae) family, and the pomegranate is food-derived.

Prickly Pear, Hibiscus & Green TeaOpuntia, Hibiscus Sabdariffa, Camellia Sinensis

Food-derived seed oils, named here for those specific allergies. Hibiscus sits in the mallow (Malvaceae) family, and green tea is here twice, as the seed oil and as an antioxidant leaf extract.

Carrot & Gotu KolaDaucus Carota Sativa, Centella Asiatica

Both sit in the carrot and celery (Apiaceae) family, so that is the note for that allergy. Gotu kola is classed in Apiaceae or Araliaceae depending on the source.

Olive Squalane & JojobaSqualane, Simmondsia Chinensis

The light base oil. An olive-derived, skin-familiar squalane that carries no scent of its own, with jojoba alongside it. Olive is in the Oleaceae family, and jojoba comes from a desert shrub rather than a nut, despite the name.

Sunflower, Rosemary & Vitamin EHelianthus Annuus, Rosmarinus Officinalis, Tocopherol

The rosemary extract is sunflower-diluted, so sunflower arrives with it and both appear on the label. Sunflower sits in the daisy and ragweed (Asteraceae) family, and the vitamin E is sunflower-derived as well, never soy. Rosemary is here as the leaf extract, which is what keeps the essential-oil-free standard intact, and it sits in the mint (Lamiaceae) family.

The colour comes from those four oils and nothing else. No dye was added to make it that shade, and on very fair skin or light fabric it can leave a trace for a moment before it absorbs.

That is everything in the bottle. Nothing hidden, nothing implied. If a particular ingredient gives you pause, the lupine especially if you have a peanut or legume allergy, or the sunflower if you are ragweed-sensitive, patch test a small area first. You know your body best.

How long a bottle lasts

A few drops covers a face, and the dropper makes it easy to take less than you think you need.

We have not printed a month figure, because ours would not be yours.

Whether it is preserved, and why not

No, and it does not need one. There is no water in here. A preservative exists to stop things growing in water, and with no water there is nothing to grow in. That is one more thing left out on purpose.

What is in here instead is vitamin E and rosemary extract. Those are antioxidants. They slow the oils turning over time, which is a different job from preserving.

Storing it, and why the bottle is amber

Cool, out of direct sunlight, cap closed. Pomegranate and rosehip together are more than half of this bottle, and both turn faster than most oils, so the amber glass and the small headspace are doing real work. A sunny windowsill and the shelf above a hot shower are the two places to avoid. A drawer or a cupboard is ideal.

If it arrives warm, and when to stop

Warmth in transit is nothing to worry about here. There is no water and no emulsion, so there is nothing to melt and nothing to split. Leave it somewhere cool and it will be exactly as it should be.

What to watch for over a long time is the smell. Plant oils turn eventually, and when they do the scent goes sharp or flat rather than soft. If yours smells different from the bottle you opened, stop using it on your face and tell us, and we will replace it.
