i. The Signal

When everything feels like too much.

Skin that is reacting right now. Stinging at things it used to tolerate, tight and hot, done with being experimented on. On days like this a longer routine is one more thing to get through.

The Bare Ritual is the smallest routine I make. Three steps, morning and night, and no decisions inside it.

ii. The Ritual

Three steps. That is the whole thing.

A cleansing bar, a hydrating essence, and the Ceramide Barrier Cream. Cleanse, press hydration into damp skin, seal. Nothing between those steps and nothing after them.

This is a subtraction, on purpose. No serum, no oil, no treatment step, no acids, no retinoids. Fewer ingredients on your skin means fewer things to sort through if something does react.

Made for skin that

is reacting, stinging, or tight right now
reacts to scent, essential oils, acids, or retinoids
is being reintroduced to products slowly
wants the shortest routine that still works

iii. The Standard

What is in it, and what is left out.

Three products, formulated without essential oils, synthetic fragrance, synthetic dyes, or talc. No acids, no retinoids, no CBD, no lupine anywhere in the set. The Ceramide Barrier Cream is built around ceramides, cholesterol, and phytosphingosine, the same lipid family skin makes for itself.

Essential oil-freeNo essential oils in any of the three, which matters for scent-sensitive and migraine-prone skin.
Nothing built to stimulateNo acids, no retinoids, no tingle. This is the quiet end of the line.
The shortest routine we makeThree steps, and no fourth one waiting to be added.
Fixed set, no configuringThree products, chosen and paired for you.

What the set costs

Hydrate Cleansing Bar$42
Clarity Essence, 4 oz jar$74
Ceramide Barrier Cream, 2 oz jar$78
The Bare Ritual$155

Bought separately, $194. You save $39.

A little goes a long way. Cleansing bar around 3 to 6 months, essence 3 to 5 months, barrier cream 6 months or more.

What’s Included

Three full-size products. No options to configure and no substitutions.

Step one · Cleanse

Hydrate Cleansing Bar, $42. A soft cleansing bar that refreshes without stripping.

Step two · Essence

Clarity Essence, 4 oz jar, $74. A water-based hydrating layer pressed into damp skin.

Step three · Cream

Ceramide Barrier Cream, 2 oz jar, $78. A soft, cushioned finish with ceramides, cholesterol, and phytosphingosine.

Separately these come to $194. The set is $155.

How to Use

Morning and night, in this order. If mornings are too much, water alone is fine and you can start at step two.

1 · Cleanse

Lather the Hydrate Cleansing Bar gently in your hands and rinse. Leave your skin damp for the next step.

2 · Essence

Press the Clarity Essence into damp skin. Press rather than rub, and let it sink in before moving on.

3 · Cream

Press in the Ceramide Barrier Cream to finish. A little is enough.

If you are reintroducing products after a long break, start with one step for a week before adding the next. Patch test a small area on your inner forearm before your first full use.

Sensory Notes

A low-sensory ritual. Soft textures across all three steps, no synthetic fragrance and no essential oils, and only the faint natural note of the ingredients themselves.

BarA soft, low lather that rinses clean.
EssenceLight and water-like. Sinks in quickly on damp skin.
CreamSoft and cushioned. Finishes matte rather than greasy.
OverallCool, quiet, and predictable. The same three things every time.

Scent: no synthetic fragrance and no essential oils in any of the three. The Ceramide Barrier Cream is preserved with a system that includes benzyl alcohol, a gentle ECOCERT preservative that also counts as a declarable fragrance allergen, so that piece is labeled unscented rather than fragrance-free. The bar and the essence carry no added scent at all.

Ingredients

Each of the three products carries its own complete ingredient list and per-ingredient breakdown on its own page.

Across the whole set: no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, no synthetic dyes, and no talc. The Autoimmune & Sensitivity Transparency section below maps what to check in each of the three.

Best For

Made for people who need the shortest possible routine, including those navigating MCAS, eczema, and other reactive conditions.

Skin typesSensitive, reactive, dehydrated, or easily overwhelmed skin.
SensitivitiesReacts to scent, essential oils, acids, or retinoids. Migraine-prone.
MomentsMid-flare, post-stress, post-travel, or slowly rebuilding a routine.

When you are ready for more: the Steady Ritual is these same three products with the Balance Serum added, for weeks when your skin is holding. You do not have to start there.

Autoimmune & Sensitivity Transparency

Three products, and open about all three.

I formulate for bodies that react to almost everything, including my own, so I build for less and I name all of it. The Bare Ritual is a fixed set of three: the Hydrate Cleansing Bar, the Clarity Essence, and the Ceramide Barrier Cream. Nothing to configure, which means the full ingredient picture is knowable before you buy. This is the shortest allergen list of any set I make. No CBD, no lupine, no neem, no zinc oxide, no essential oils, no acids, and no retinoids. Each product also carries its own complete breakdown on its own page.

True across all three

Essential oil-freeNo essential oils in any of the three, which is a real consideration for scent-sensitive and migraine-prone skin.
Nothing built to stimulateNo acids, no retinoids, no CBD, no lupine. The quiet end of the line.
Plant-powered, claim-disciplinedReal botanicals, no synthetic dyes and no talc, described at the level of how skin looks and feels.
Fully disclosed, every oneEach product has its own “Every ingredient, named” breakdown. Nothing hidden.

Read this before you order

The Hydrate Cleansing Bar contains colloidal oat. If you have an oat allergy, or you have become sensitized to oat, this is one to skip. Oat protein can act as a sensitizer on skin that is already reacting, and that risk is worth taking seriously rather than working around. Write to us if you would like a version of this ritual without the oat step.

On gluten: the colloidal oat is certified gluten-free at source, and we hold the supplier certification on file. This is a separate question from the sensitization note above, which is about oat protein rather than gluten.

Tree-nut note: the bar contains tamanu and shea, and the cream contains shea. Both are tree-nut derived.

On fragrance

All three are free of essential oils and synthetic fragrance. The Hydrate Cleansing Bar and the Clarity Essence carry no added scent at all. The Ceramide Barrier Cream is preserved with a system that includes benzyl alcohol, a gentle ECOCERT preservative that also counts as a declarable fragrance allergen, so that one piece is labeled unscented rather than bare fragrance-free. If benzyl alcohol is something you avoid, write to us and we will point you to the pieces that leave it out.

What to know, product by product

The short version for each of the three. For the complete ingredient list, open the Autoimmune & Sensitivity Transparency section on that product’s own page.

Hydrate Cleansing Bar step one

Contains tamanu, which is tree-nut derived, plus coconut and shea. Also contains certified gluten-free colloidal oat. See the oat and tree-nut notes above.

Clarity Essence step two

A water-based essence with no essential oils, no synthetic fragrance, and no added scent. Its full botanical list is on the Clarity Essence page and worth a read if you have known plant-family sensitivities.

Ceramide Barrier Cream step three

Contains fermented and mushroom ingredients (yeast, Lactobacillus, snow mushroom), and shea, which is tree-nut derived. Cholesterol is usually plant-derived but can be lanolin-derived, so it is worth confirming with us if you have a wool or lanolin allergy. Preserved with a system that includes benzyl alcohol. See the fragrance note above.

That is the whole map. Nothing hidden, nothing implied. Open the full breakdown on each of the three product pages for the complete ingredient lists, and patch test a small area before your first full use. If you are working with an allergist or a specialist, bring the lists to them. Alongside your doctors, never instead. You know your body best.
